Happy Birthday to The Junkyard
A post by Amy Kind
Today we celebrate the first birthday of The Junkyard! We’re very pleased with how our first year went. We have thus far featured Wednesday posts from 41 different authors – scholars ranging from philosophers to psychologists to legal scholars. We’ve also run a book symposium, a roundup of recent work on imagination, and a conference report. There were about 9K unique visitors to our blog in its first year, and almost 23K page views.
Looking ahead to our second year, we already have authors lined up to contribute Wednesday posts through the end of June, and then we expect to take a summer hiatus in July. Soon we will be working on lining up Wednesday posts for August and beyond. If any of our readers are interested in contributing something, please let us know.
We also expect to run more conference reports and book symposia in the future. And if any of you have suggestions for other kinds of content you’d like to see, please comment here or get in touch with us by email.
Finally, as a thank you to our readers on the occasion of our birthday, we are running a commenting contest for this month. Anyone who leaves a new comment on a post – the post can be an old one or a new one – during the month of April will be entered into a drawing to receive a copy of my edited Routledge Handbook of Philosophy of Imagination. We will select one winner at random at the end of the month.
Here’s to Year Two!
